Period French Empire armchair in gilded wood, attributed to the firm of Jacob, Paris

A grand scale single French Empire open arm chair with deep carving, and original gilding; many identically carved armchairs are either signed by Jacob or are attributed to him and are found in various European royal residences and public collections;  early 19thC; now covered in silk velvet.

Dimensions:  38" H x 27 1/2" W x 29" D, (approximate).
